It was some time last year that one of my friends asked me about some good books. The request was specific, something really good and thrilling, something different. There are some of my friends, who were readers during their school days, but never continued with reading seriously. Then there are the newspaper buffs who believe that the world is in the newspapers alone. I had asked him to check out Faith and the Beloved. He had taken to reading the book with a fair amount of scepticism, but was kind of pleasantly surprised after reading the book. He loved the novel, but felt the portrayal of the underbelly of the society was a tad bit too harsh. But felt it was made up by the soliloquy kind of quotations in every chapter
