Book Description..!!
Endings are inevitable.…!!!
Whether it’s a romantic relationship that shatters, a close friendship that fades, or family ties that become toxic, sooner or later, we all face the painful truth of letting go. In the aftermath, we are left with one task: To heal. But here’s the truth―time alone doesn’t heal. Passive distance doesn’t heal. Looking away doesn’t heal. Only active, conscious healing does.
In a world of instant connections, silent ghosting, and fast goodbyes, this book offers what we were never taught: How to end relationships with grace and how to reclaim your peace after heartbreak. Blending deeply personal stories with timeless insights from Indian philosophy, mythology, and spiritual psychology, Goodbye, I Love(d) You gently guides you through emotional recovery.

Whether you’re grieving a break-up, mourning a friendship, or breaking free from toxic family patterns, this book is a steady, compassionate hand through the storm. With practical tools, soulful reflections, and powerful truths, it shows that every ending―no matter how painful―is an invitation to begin again. Because true healing isn’t about clinging, it’s about coming home to yourself.
To Start…!!
Ever since I was introduced to ‘The Inner Light‘ by Sumaa Tekur through HayHouse publishing, I have become a big fan of the author’s writing. I can proudly call myself a devoted reader of Sumaa’s works. While the first book dealt with spiritual light, the other two were about solo living and chance encounters; this recent release focuses on moving from past heartbreak, estrangement, and quiet grief.

While I find relatability in the last three works, I am unfortunately fortunate to find identifiable similarities in the majority of the presented protagonist patterns, along with the grief and affliction they are undergoing.
Book précis…!!!
The first highlight of this book is Sumaa’s compassionate articulation of echoing, “You are not alone.” As Sumaa rightly mentions, this book isn’t just a dot on the map of heartbreaks and estrangements; it is a warm offering of a helping hand for those who are experiencing dark days, providing proven options to cope better or even to explore the unexplored dimensions; rather, it serves as a key to an unopened door of life.
She offers a handful of stories to her readers to uncover aspects like contentment and resurrection. Through this book, Sumaa assures her readers to believe in new beginnings and to become emotionally armed.
My Preamble…!!!
This book isn’t just a breakup-alleviating companion; Sumaa addresses a range of common issues, such as mourning a breakup, a marriage collapse, a friendship disbandment, a family severance, and more. This handy healing guide is a boon for those in need of mental convalescence. Sumaa also imbues the narrative with elements of spirituality, karmic loops, intuitiveness, energy cords, divine intervention, detachment, and more, creating an interconnected journey called recovery.
Additionally, Sumaa enriches this impactful healing guide with citations of mythological characters like Damayantī, Bhīṣma, dhruvā, Maṇḍāviyā, Śiva, Pārvatī, Viṣṇu, and others. As someone who is spiritually literate, I sincerely appreciate the author’s expert cogitation on the topics she wishes to offer to her readers.

Book Prelude..!!
Sumaa rightfully captures the emotional complexities of the respective narratives. I find myself in the shoes of most of the protagonists and their experiences at some stage of my life. Thanks to the author for dissecting the underlying predicaments and providing insightful enlightenment along with imperative activities to invite exceptional assuage. I am confident that the lessons from this book stem not only from gratifying perspectives but also from proficiency in devoutness practices.

Book Accolades..!!!
I should thank the protagonist, Ankita, although my empathy goes out to the turbulence between her and Anuj. This chapter showcases Sumaa’s healer unravelling ability; she excels in writing about obsession and energy in relationships, with Rati and Kama Deva serving as apt equivalents for the respective subjects articulated. An in-depth analysis of the hormonal impact due to relationship addiction is provided with passion.
Special mention goes to the conceptual deep dive into chakras and energy cords, along with their inter-relationships, resonances, and chakra-clearing exercises. I haven’t encountered this angle of the healing pathway in any of my recent reads.
Author Accolades..!!!
Kudos to Sumaa Tekur’s writing style; her writing carries emotional depth, rich portrayal, and a keen exploration of the internal struggles faced by the showcased protagonists. Her experience of working as a journalist greatly contributed to this work, as the themes explored in this book establish a deeper connection and subjective influence.
One of the author’s distinct qualities is her solicitude; she acknowledges the common problems faced in relationships and, as a friend or go-to person, she guides her readers toward conscious healing.
Inquisitive Emphasis..!!
Amidst the conceptual offerings on healing and estrangements, I experienced a sense of disconnect in several places. Additionally, the chapter-to-chapter flow could have been improved. Although there was an opportunity to include relatable images and illustrations, the author did not fully utilize this opportunity, which could have enhanced the reading experience for eccentric readers.
Furthermore, the author might have considered dedicating a few open pages at the end of each chapter so the readers could jot down their self-reflections against the suggested exercises.

Book Assort…!!!
My favorite and go-to chapter in this book is “Rituals for Release.” These let-go ceremonies aid the healing process, including ancestral rituals, lighting an oil lamp, fire and water rituals, sound healing, karmic release, intentional movement rituals (dance/yoga), and more. These practices not only cleanse psychological and physiological defects but also unblock most of our stuck emotions. While some of these practices are already present in my home, this book will now inspire me to perform them with greater consciousness and attention.
End Note..!!!
If you are someone who is undergoing turbulence in your relationships, be it breakups, mourning a friendship, breaking free from toxic family patterns, or dealing with unwanted grief, this book can serve as your steering controller. Through the stories and protagonists, Sumaa invites her readers to deep-dive and reflect on their own experiences, packed with love, adoration, and endearment.
Special thanks to Team HayHouse for publishing this book. This was one of my blind purchases, as all books authored by Sumaa came from the house of HayHouse Publishing. Long live Sumaa’s association with the publisher; I am eagerly awaiting the next page-turner from this duo.
